Important Notice to Our Loan Members
Due to the recently passed legislation, the Federal Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act of 2009 (Card Act), lenders are now required to mail or deliver periodic statements at least 21 days prior to the due date. This legislation affects Open-end lending auto loans, signature loans, and lines of credit.
For the Credit Union to remain in compliance with the new regulations, we are changing your due date to the first of the month.
The actual due date of your loan is being updated due to those regulatory changes. You do not need to sign any additional forms or contact the Credit Union for this change to take effect. The loan disclosure you signed when you first obtained the loan will suffice as authority to change your due date.
Please continue to make your loan payments just as you always have during this transition period. If your loans are on payroll deduction or direct deposit (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly or monthly), transferred automatically from savings or checking, or from another financial institution, the current transfer date will remain the same. If you make your loan payment on a specific day of the month, you may continue to do so.
Making the change in this manner will (1) cause the least amount of disruption to you, our member, and (2) will help the Credit Union to control expenses associated with changes caused by the regulations, so that we may continue to offer competitive loan and savings rates.
